Bristol solicitors join Novum Law as demand grows for its specialist expertise

Specialist personal injury law firm Novum, which has an office in Bristol, has continued its expansion by appointing five new solicitors, two of them from Bristol-based practices.

It is the firm’s highest number of new solicitor appointments since 2014 and reflects growing demand for its expert legal services.

Joining Novum are Nayo Kirkpatrick, who previously worked at New Law Solicitors in Bristol, and Rebecca Max, who arrives from Simpson Millar’s Bristol office. Both will be based at its Swindon head office.

Nayo worked at New Law on serious personal injury cases, gaining valuable experience in claimant litigation. Having qualified as a solicitor in 2012, he will specialise in high-value serious personal injury and head injury compensation claims, reporting to Novum director Anna Cole.

Rebecca joins from  where she handled clinical negligence cases. A newly qualified solicitor, she will work alongside Novum director Huw Ponting and his expert team of solicitors on complex personal injury and traumatic brain injury cases.

Novum works with clients and their families to navigate their way through the compensation process and achieve the best possible outcomes for people who have sustained serious, life-changing injuries through no fault of their own.

The three other new recruits have joined Novum Law’s Isle of Wight, Salisbury and new Southampton office, which specialises in helping people affected by asbestos-related illnesses.

Chief executive Thomas Sheppard said: “Our business model is built on giving our clients a solicitor-led personal service and we need good people to grow our business.

“These five new recruits will allow us to continue to grow our reputation as a specialist in personal injury, medical negligence and asbestos-related disease work.

“In a sector where there is considerable pessimism, we are committed to attracting and retaining talented solicitors who can really make a difference for our clients and at the same time build an interesting and rewarding career for themselves.”

Novum, a sister business of M4 corridor law firm Thrings, also has offices in Bath, Plymouth and Reading and earlier this year expanded into the Midlands for the first time by opening in Hereford.
