Bristol business support organisation BRAVE Enterprise is urgently seeking experienced business people to mentor the city’s growing number of aspiring entrepreneurs.
The not-for-profit organisation has helped thousands launch successful ventures since it was launched in the 1980s. 
But its existing network of mentors is now advising record numbers of people on becoming self-employed and so is stretched to the limit. More people with a background in business are badly needed to share their expertise.
The call comes as BRAVE has secured a new contract to continue delivering the New Enterprise Allowance scheme locally.
The scheme helps unemployed people in Bristol start their own business and includes mentor support to help them through the early start-up stages.
BRAVE Enterprise director Liz Sands, pictured, said: “We are looking for friendly, committed business people who can give up a small amount of their time to support people who have a great business idea that needs developing.
“The role is potentially very rewarding and could make a huge difference to someone’s chances of success.
“Many of the people we help are unemployed. They will have some experience and skills but may lack confidence to know what to do next. They need someone to give them guidance about how to get started in business and provide encouragement. That’s where you can help.”
