He is a former chair of the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM) Data Council and also held a position as board director representing the data Industry for the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).
He will now use his extensive experience to help build a bridge between business managers and academics. BlueVenn provides marketers with tools for powerful analytics, integrated campaign management, modelling, reporting and email communications
Iain said: “I hope to enable a strong collaboration between senior level managers in direct marketing and analytics and academia in order to ensure effective and impactful future direct and digital marketing.
“There is a fundamental requirement for a new collaborative partnership to create effective out/in-reach programmes to ensure relevant research activity undertaking with associated impact on marketing. I will also be pleased to act as a mentor for business students and offer to run lectures and seminars in support of the aims of the business school.”
During his three-year tenure as visiting professor, Iain will get the opportunity to deliver his lectures at the new Bristol Business School and Bristol Law School. The £50m building will incorporate specialist teaching facilities and is expected to be operational from January next year.
Before then, Iain will be dispensing more of his wisdom at the biggest trade show for marketers in the country, Marketing Week Live. The exhibition takes place on April 28-29 at Olympia in London and is the perfect opportunity for marketing professionals, retailers, agencies and SMEs to find solutions to their industry challenges.
