This week Owen Franklin, director of Bristol Film Festival, answers our 10 questions. 
What was the LAST:
Film you watched? I saw Deadpool on its opening weekend and wasn’t disappointed – very silly, very funny and a great antidote to overly serious superhero movies.
Book you read? I finally got round to reading We Need To Talk About Kevin; worth the hype and a very uncomfortable but compelling read.
Music you bought/downloaded? Ben Folds’ latest album, it includes his first classical concerto, very Gershwin-esque!
Concert or play you went to? I caught Frank Turner at the Colston Hall late last year. I’ve seen him a dozen times and he never disappoints.
Sporting event you attended? Rugby World Cup, Wales v Fiji, Millennium Stadium – glorious atmosphere, pitch-side seats, loads of action and Wales won. Perfect!
Holiday you went on? I went skiing a couple of weeks ago in Davos, Switzerland, but ended up spending half the holiday ill in bed. So less skiing, more of an alpine holiday…
Restaurant you ate in? Bosco Pizzeria on Whiteladies Road – best pizzas in town, and dangerously close to my office.
Thing that annoyed you? Designing Bristol Film Festival flyers – or perhaps more accurately, trying to operate the InDesign software whilst amending the flyers. Some things are best left to the professionals.
Thing that made you laugh out loud? One of my colleagues unexpectedly brought his pugs to work today. I wish I could have seen my face when they first came scuttling towards me. I may have to pitch for an office puppy…
Piece of good advice you were given? Not to attempt driving to a 6pm meeting in the city centre last week. The traffic stretched from Whiteladies Road to Colston Avenue, I was faster on foot and grateful for the tip-off!
