RBS has appointed Rhys Morgan as assistant director in its Bristol-based structured finance team to work on deals across the South of England and South Wales.
Rhys, pictured, who has worked for Finance Wales and global accountancy firm KPMG, joins RBS from Gloucester-based tax advisers and chartered accountants Hazlewoods, where he worked in the corporate finance division.
RBS’ structured finance team provides specialist funding to businesses across the UK in support of mid-market private equity transactions.
The team had a highly successful 2015, working with 21 private equity firms, closing 24 deals and funding more than £350m of new acquisition debt and development facilities.
Rhys’ role will comprise originating and transacting deals for the team in the South of England and South Wales.
RBS director Jonny Wright said: “2015 was another excellent year for our team and we’re keen to build on that success by making a number of new appointments.
“Rhys brings a wealth of experience that will enable us to capitalise on increasing deal flow resulting from strong market conditions and our own origination and debt structuring initiatives.”
