An auditor from the Bristol office of accountancy, investment management and tax group Smith & Williamson has achieved the highest marks in the West of England in her final accounting exams.
Holly Szoke, pictured, who has been working in Smith & Williamson’s audit team at for the past three years, received the top grades in the region in two of the final exam papers – Corporate Reporting and Strategic Business Management.
Holly is now a fully qualified associate chartered accountant, having successfully completed her post-graduate training through the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) while working at Smith & Williamson.
She said: “I was surprised and delighted to find out that I’d been placed first in the West of England based on my ACA final exam results. I didn’t expect to win any awards, let alone two!
“The last few years have been challenging, juggling a full time job with my studies, but it’s a great feeling to have done so well. I feel fortunate to have had so much support from Smith & Williamson and look forward to developing my audit career with them.”
Smith & Williamson Bristol’s audit partner and head of assurance and business services, Carl Deane, added: “We are extremely proud of Holly’s achievements. She is a highly valued member of our team and I have no doubt that she has a great career ahead of her.”
Holly’s role mainly involves statutory audits for a diverse range of companies, from AIM-listed groups to small, privately owned businesses.
