Bristol-based independent accountancy firm Corrigan Associates has appointed Richard Bunker as partner as it aims for ambitious growth this year.
Richard, a qualified chartered accountant and tax practitioner, has joined from Whyatt Pakeman, the Bristol firm acquired by regional accountants Bishop Fleming just before Christmas. Prior to that he worked for national firm Smith & Williamson.
Corrigan Associates managing partner Edward Corrigan said: “We are pleased Richard chose to join us recognising that our practice has grown by providing excellent service and maintaining client relationships.
“Richard is one of Bristol’s best-known accountants, advising business owners and private clients and he joins us with an extensive client portfolio. The Bristol accountancy market has seen a great deal of consolidation, but people like smaller independent practices like ours.
“Our fee income increased by more than 20% last year and Richard’s appointment helps us build a team to compete for work at the highest level. We are growing organically, reflecting increasing demand for independent, high-quality service.”
Richard said: “I am looking forward to starting 2016 as part of Ed’s fast developing team. He has created a great business and I am confident this will be a very positive move for me and my clients.”
Corrigan Associates was formed by Edward Corrigan and two former colleagues Julian Halton and Pete Edwards, who all worked together for national firm Baker Tilly.
