Property agency Hartnell Taylor Cook has strengthened its retail team with two senior appointments in its Bristol head office and a new graduate recruit in London.
Richard Saunders and James Woodard – who have joined as directors – bring nearly 30 years’ experience between them in the retail market. Both previously worked in the Bristol office of national firm Sanderson Weatherall.
Richard, who was a partner in Sanderson Weatherall’s Bristol retail agency, has also worked for Colliers International and Alder King in Bristol.
He has extensive knowledge of the high street and shopping centre markets having acted for a host of household retail names dealing with numerous acquisition and disposal programmes. He also advises institutional landlords, providing guidance on letting strategy and asset enhancement opportunities.
James, who was an associate partner at Sanderson Weatherall and was previously with King Sturge (now JLL), has worked across the South West and South Wales retail and leisure markets and is a specialist in the A3/A5 (food and drink/hot food takeaway) sectors, working on numerous expansion projects for emerging operators, and for landlords on several high-profile mixed-use developments throughout the region.
The pair bring with them a wealth of experience and profile, boosting an already established team of experts in high street, shopping centre, restaurant, out-of-town, professional and investment work, making Hartnell Taylor Cook one of the strongest retail teams in the region.
Meanwhile Polly Goodman has joined the London retail team having recently qualifying from University of West of England (UWE). She spent a year in Hartnell Taylor Cook’s Bristol office as part of her sandwich year, working in the retail and investment teams.
Partner in charge of retail agency in Bristol, Lyall Kennedy, said: “These new appointments reflect our continued commitment and confidence in the retail and leisure market. Hartnell Taylor Cook are a recognised retail advisors and fortunate to work with some of the largest national and regional retailers and institutions.
“We are delighted to have recruited the calibre of individuals with the expertise that our clients expect at a time when the rapid revival in the retail sector continues. The new recruits have integrated well and we look forward to the next exciting phase at Hartnell Taylor Cook.”
