Strength of industrial market triggers sale of Clevedon units ahead of completion

The first phase of a speculative development of industrial and distribution units in Clevedon has been sold before construction has finished – an indicator, say its letting agents, of strong demand for business space in the area.

Work on the three units at Westfield Park, sized between just over 1,000 sq ft and 2,850 sq ft, started in June. Since then three local businesses have committed to buy the properties ahead of practical completion.

Construction will now go ahead on a second phase of three more units, totalling 6,000 sq ft, with completion scheduled for the second quarter of next year.

Director of the joint marketing agents Williams Gunter Hardwick, Malcolm Gunter, said: “The speed with which the units were purchased demonstrates just how much pent-up demand there is locally for well-configured smaller industrial units available on a freehold basis.”

He said he had already received inquiries for the next phase, where asking prices will be around £125 per sq ft.”

Joint agents for Westfield Park are Burston Cook.
