Two new partners appointed at patent and trade mark attorney firm Haseltine Lake

Bristol-based patent and trade mark attorney firm Haseltine Lake has promoted Magnus Johnston and Patrick Chapman to partners – bringing its number of partners to 24.

Magnus, pictured right, is part of the firm’s chemistry and life sciences team and specialises in pharmaceutical, petrochemical and materials chemistry.

He is experienced in patent drafting and the prosecution of applications relating to lubricants, fuels, polymers, functional fluids, mineral processing and pharmaceutical technologies. He joined Haseltine Lake in 2003 and qualified as a patent attorney in 2008. He now works with a diverse range of UK and overseas clients.

Patrick, pictured below, a UK and European patent attorney and European design attorney, is now a partner in the engineering, energy and environmental team.

Patrick, who joined Haseltine Lake in 2007, drafts and prosecutes patent applications covering a wide range of technologies in the mechanical engineering and electronics fields. In particular, he works for clients in the oil and gas, aerospace, automotive, biomedical and renewable energy industries.

Patrick also advises clients regarding design matters and is experienced in devising effective filing strategies.
