Bristol-headquartered law firm TLT has advised Wiltshire manufacturer Avon Rubber on its £3.5m acquisition of a thermal imaging camera business.

Melksham-based Avon said Argus would boost profits and help longer-term product development opportunities in its protection and defence business, which produces innovative gas masks and respirators for defence and homeland security customers worldwide.

Argus, which Avon has bought from Essex-based UK technology firm e2v, designs and manufactures thermal imaging cameras for the first responder and fire markets.

The TLT team was led by corporate partner Alice Gardner and included employment legal director Alison Cameron, pensions and incentives solicitor Ben Player, commercial associate Dan Read and corporate solicitor Nicole Spurling.

Alice Gardner said: “This is an important acquisition for our long-standing client. It marks the continued development of Avon’s growth plans, ensuring that they can offer a broader range of products to their customer base.

“We’re delighted to have advised Avon throughout the whole process supporting and working side by side their acquisition team.”
