Regional accountants Milsted Langdon’s Bristol-based forensic accounting partner Roger Isaacs has been appointed vice-chair of the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) Forensic Group.
The group, which meets around four times per year, is responsible for the institute’s thought leadership in forensic accounting and supports new members and long-established practitioners with issues they may be facing in their professional work. 
It issues regular newsletters and guidance on best practice and is recognised for having introduced a system of accreditation of expert witnesses, which is increasingly recognised as the pre-eminent standard for accountancy expert witnesses.
Roger, pictured, became one of the first people in the country to qualify for this accreditation from the ICAEW in 2010 in recognition of his knowledge and experience, which covers a diverse range of legal sectors from divorce and shareholder disputes to fraud cases and loss of earnings calculations.
Roger is also the national technical director of the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants (NIFA) and has given oral evidence in the county court, magistrates’ court and High Court. He sits on the panel of the president of the ICAEW for appointments to resolve disputes by means of expert determination. He is also treasurer of the Association of South West Mediators and a member of the Academy of Experts.
In addition to his day-to-day role advising Milsted Langdon’s clients, Roger lectures widely on a variety of accountancy related topics including business valuation, strategic planning and directors’ duties.
