Recent changes in employment legislation will be explained at a free seminar taking place next Tuesday.
The event is hosted by Mangotsfield-based chartered accountancy firm Copson Grandfield and among the speakers will be Gregg Latcham partner John Dalby, who heads the firm’s corporate and commercial and employment departments. Solicitor Colin Foote, who specialises in employment law, will also address delegates.
Issues to be covered include the Equality Act 2010 and the scrapping of the default retirement age. John and Colin will also look ahead to some of the forthcoming changes, as well as answering questions.
Mr Dalby said: “When you are trying to concentrate on running your own business, it can be difficult to keep up with changes in legislation. However, not knowing your rights and obligations as an employer could prove costly if you find yourself on the receiving end of legal action.
“This past year has seen some significant changes in employment law which every employer needs to be aware of. This seminar will provide an excellent opportunity for employers to find out how these changes affect them and what action they need to take to ensure they continue to comply with current legislation.”
The seminar is at Cleve RFC, Cossham Street, Mangotsfield, with registration and refreshments from 6pm. The seminar itself is between 6.30pm to 8pm.
