Post production house Evolutions is to open a second facility in Bristol just a year after opening in the heart of the city’s Whiteladies Road media district.
The new building, in which Evolutions has invested around £500,000 in state-of-the-art equipment, will provide additional capacity for the thriving post house as it prepares for further growth.
The new base will predominantly offer offline suites but has capacity to develop further. It will be equipped with 10 fully-equipped Avid cutting rooms and the latest tapeless technology and will be connected to Evolutions Bristol’s first building several hundred yards away.
The two will be connected by a private dark-fibre network, giving Evolutions clients a seamless experience whichever building they are using. A further five staff are being recruited.
Since arriving in Bristol, the firm has worked on One Born Every Minute (Channel 4), Countryfile (BBC), Seven Wonders of the Commonwealth (BBC) and DIY SOS (BBC) among others.
Evolutions is the largest firm of its kind operating in Soho, the heart of London’s film and TV sector. It decided to open in Bristol because of the city’s growing reputation for TV production work. Bristol is increasingly viewed as part of the UK’s dynamic ‘media triangle’ with London and Manchester.

The new building will be fully operational by the last week in September.
