Precision measurement technology firm Opti-cal Survey Equipment has opened an office in Bristol as part of its national expansion.
The firm, which has its headquarters in Reading and satellite offices in Crawley, Milton Keynes and Huddersfield, has moved into Apex Court Business Park at Almondsbury – the latest tech business to locate in the area.
The firm is to occupy the two-storey 1,770 sq ft Unit 23 at Apex Court from where it will supply precision measurement technology to the firms in the region’s surveying, construction and engineering industries.
It specialises in selling, hiring and servicing new and re-conditioned land survey and laser equipment and providing training and support.
Formed in 2002, it has expanded consistently with sales growth at 70%-plus year on year. It now has an annual turnover of more than £5m.
The deal on the Apex Court office was brokered by property agency Bruton Knowles on behalf of the building’s owner Travis Perkins.
Bruton Knowles head of agency at its Bristol office, Paul Williams, said: “Almondsbury Business Park is home to a growing number of companies which need quality space offering easy access to the motorway and road network.
“We are seeing increased activity in this sector of the market. With improvements in the economy firms are seeking to capitalise on the opportunities which are out there to grow their businesses and invest in new locations.”
The building has been refurbished for Opti-cal by Bristol-based office fit-out specialists Amarelle as part of the deal.
