Property agents Savills’ Bristol office has been appointed by developer Cubex to market apartments at the city’s Finzels Reach mixed-use scheme.
Some 72 one and two-bedroom apartments will go on sale on February 15 in a move Savills says shows that confidence is returning to the city centre property market.
The 4.7-acre Finzels Reach development on the former Courage Brewery site opposite Castle Park has planning consent for 400 apartments as well as 300,000 sq ft of offices and 90,000 sq ft of retail. Bristol-based Cubex plans to create a new city quarter on the site.
Savills head of new homes in Bristol George Cardale said: “The new investment in Finzels Reach is a sign of the growing confidence in the Bristol market and will release much-needed city centre apartments.
“Many of these are available for immediate occupation, which is unusual in the current market with the majority of new builds being purchased off-plan.”
Prices for a one-bedroom apartment will start at £175,000.
In a separate scheme at Finzels Reach, the imposing Grade II listed Generator building next to St Phillips Bridge which once powered Bristol’s tram system, will be the subject of a planning application for conversion to more than 30 loft-style apartments.
Finzels Reach has an estimated gross development value of £150m. It was acquired by Cubex with its funding partners Palmer Capital last year.
