Bristol-based entrepreneurs, advisers and mentors are on hand to meet budding business owners this morning at the launch of the StartUp Britain bus tour.
The city is the first of 14 entrepreneurial hot spots across the UK to be visited by StartUp Britain. The tour aims to celebrate, inspire and accelerate the nation’s latent business talent and encourage more people to start up and grow their own companies
The bus will is at Paintworks, Bristol’s creative industry quarter on Bath Road, from 9am to 11.30am this morning where business leaders, experts, entrepreneurs and small business writers are offering business advice, speed mentoring and speed networking.
Among those on board will be Rob Law, the designer and brainchild behind Trunki, the ride-on suitcase for children, Jamie Murray Wells, the entrepreneur behind Glasses Direct and co-founder of StartUp Britain and Charlie Harry Francis, founder of recently-formed ice cream business Lick Me I’m Delicious.
Also on the bus will be four advisors from Outset Bristol, the organisation that provides free training and support Bristol residents looking to start their own business, and advisers on finance, tax, payroll, IT and other key issues for start ups.
Advice for entrepreneurs will also come from Nick Sturge, centre director, at SETsquared, which provides support for hi-tech, high-growth start ups and step-up businesses and runs an acceleration unit at Bristol University.
