Business West, which runs Bristol Chamber of Commerce and the Bristol Initiative, has appointed Sarah Pullen, managing director of Local World (Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset & Dorset), to its board.
Business West managing director Phil Smith said the appointment demonstrated the business community’s recognition of the importance of the leadership and business support role played by Business West.
“I am delighted to welcome Sarah who, with a career devoted to the regional press and now MD of Local World, brings with her an impressive wealth of business knowledge,” said Mr Smith. “I have no doubt that Business West will benefit from her vast experience of communications.
“I believe that it is vitally important to attract business people from a wide range of backgrounds to take up positions on our boards. This reflects the rich diversity of our members and clients at board level and will help us to better understand the needs of the businesses we serve. Our board of directors is made up of unpaid volunteers, giving freely of their time and business expertise and we greatly value their help in the development of Business West.”
