Trainee lawyers at West law firm Foot Anstey have chosen The Dame Hannah Rogers Trust and Age UK as the charities they will support this year.
The 12 trainees are required to play a lead role in the firm’s busy calendar of corporate social responsibility activities as part of their rigorous two-year training programme.
Fundraising has already begun with various pre-Christmas activities across the firm, which has offices in Bristol, Exeter, Taunton, Truro and Plymouth, to be followed by other events throughout the year.
The trainees work alongside partners in Foot Anstey’s highly-regarded teams including Corporate & Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Real Estate and Employment. Each of the new trainees is required to work in at least four areas of law over a two-year period with Foot Anstey teams across the region.
Devon-based charity The Dame Hannah Rogers Trust provides education, therapy, care and respite for children and young people with profound physical disabilities. Age UK is the national charity for older people formed by the merger of Age Concern and Help the Aged.
Foot Anstey managing partner John Westwell said: “By engaging with their chosen charities and organising activities which are meaningful and fun for their colleagues to support, past trainees have successfully raised significant sums of money. We are looking forward to another full programme of activity in 2013.”
