The kit sponsors of a Bristol girls’ football team are celebrating after the side made history in a new cup competition.
Brislington Juniors Girls’ Colts Under-13s were the first to rack up a victory in the augural Somerset FA County Girls’ Under 13s Cup, turning on the style to beat Berrow 7-0.
For office fit-out specialists Paramount, which sponsors the team along with battery firm Ecobat, it was a double victory as the side’s manager is its Bristol-based business development manager Sulli Gardner.
He said: “It was a case of look-sharp, think-sharp and my players certainly kicked off the new competition in emphatic style.
“With their brand-new kit they were always going to be in the right frame of mind for their day in the sun and that’s the best they’ve played this season.”
Hot-shot Marla Peel grabbed a hat-trick and Islah Ward hit her first competitive goal since taking up football a year ago, while goalkeeper Chinny Nwaorgu recorded her first clean sheet of the season
Sulli added: “The launch of a new competition in the region shows how much girls’ football is growing and the level of skill and enthusiasm bodes well for the future.
“And it’s great to see businesses like Paramount and Ecobat joining forces to show their support and help the sport flourish across Bristol and beyond.”
Cardiff-headquartered Paramount opened its showpiece Bristol office on Welsh Back just over a year ago.
Known for creating high-quality space for leading companies, its recent projects include the transformation of the landmark 360 Bristol office complex and office revamps in Bath for American software firm SmartBear and financial consultancy Altus, as well as working on Welsh football legend Gareth Bale’s Par 59 mini-golf bars in Cardiff and Bristol.
