Bristol-based international education services supplier Tribal is to provide its SITS:vision student management system to Deakin University in Australia in a deal worth 8.4m Australian dollars (£4.6m).
Some 16% of the university’s 50,000 students are from overseas and around 30% undertake the majority of their studies primarily through online engagement.
The university’s teaching is delivered on four campuses across Victoria, complemented by a strong cloud-based teaching capability.
SITS:vision is used by 60% of the UK higher education market including 12 of the 24 universities making up the elite Russell Group including the University of Oxford as well as a number of institutions around the world such as the University of Sydney.
It manages student administrative processes, from initial inquiry through to graduation and alumni, and acts as the central point of information on students and their qualifications.
Deakin University vice chancellor Prof Jane den Hollander said: “For Deakin to keep growing in an increasingly competitive Australian and international environment, having access to a world-class student management system and related operating insight will be critical. After a competitive procurement process, we are very pleased to be working with Tribal.”
Tribal chief executive Keith Evans added: “We are looking forward to working closely with the team at Deakin over the coming months.
“A key focus for us will be driving an efficient migration from Deakin’s [existing] system onto our SITS:vision platform, supporting the Deakin management team to realise the full benefits of their change programme.”
Tribal works in partnership with a wide range of organisations, including schools, colleges and universities, government agencies and large and small employers.
The group has around 1,400 staff and its work spans five continents across the world.
