Pioneering software specialist Test and Verification Solutions (TVS), which has gone from a one-person business to a global company with 80 staff, was today welcomed into an elite group of Bristol businesses.
TVS was launched in March 2008 at Bristol’s SETsquared innovation centre with just its founder Dr Mike Bartley and the aspiration to create a global technology products and services business.
It now employs 80 people in Chennai, Delhi and Bangalore, in India, and across offices Germany, France, Sweden and Italy and expects to achieve revenues of more than £2.5m this financial year.
TVS was today welcomed into the prestigious SETsquared Alumni group of companies – joining 15 other SETsquared-supported businesses that grew and developed at the centre and since leaving have continued on exciting growth paths.
TVS provides specialist software test and hardware verification services and products for clients developing products for the semiconductor and embedded systems industries.
By outsourcing to TVS, the client can focus on designing great products and not have to worry about building expertise for these complex QA activities.
Bristol is the obvious headquarters location for this business given the globally significant concentration of semiconductor and related businesses within a 20 mile radius of the city.
The Bristol SETsquared Centre is now supporting more than 60 businesses.
Dr Bartley said: “SETsquared has given TVS great advice and help since we joined in 2008. As a technical specialist I needed guidance on how to grow a business and SETsquared has provided this. TVS is pleased to continue our relationship with SETsquared.”

Among the Bristol SETsquared Alumni are microchip pioneers XMOS, DigitalTV Labs, the world’s largest independent and specialist digital TV testing company, biotech firm Apitope and precision measurement business Imetrum.
