Businesses thinking about moving to cloud accounting or keen to reap more of the benefits can attend a free seminar at the Bristol office of Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, investment management and tax group.

The event, aimed at finance directors and decision-makers within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), is on Wednesday, October 12, over two sessions – from 10am to noon and 12.30pm to 2.30pm, with lunch and networking in between.

It will feature presentations from two popular software suppliers, Xero and Quickbooks, and a chance to speak to app developers and other software providers.

Smith & Williamson’s growing business outsourcing services team in Bristol is seeing increased demand from businesses looking to outsource all areas of their accounting, VAT, payroll and company secretarial compliance – made ever-easier by the efficiencies of the cloud.

Associate director Helen Bassett, pictured, who jointly heads the team, said: “With HMRC expecting all businesses to take their tax affairs online and the well-publicised benefits of using the cloud for accounting and other services, there is a real appetite among SMEs for advice and guidance in this area.

“Our seminar will help decision-makers differentiate between the varied products on the market so they can choose the right platform for their business. It’s all about saving time and money, improving accuracy and delivering deeper insights.”
