Bristol investment specialist Alpha Portfolio Management has recruited Tony Mann from rival WH Ireland to spearhead expansion of its private client offering.
Mr Mann, described by Alpha as a “seasoned professional”, will be joined by his assistant Jane Mann and his son and fellow longstanding WH Ireland employee, wealth manager David Mann. 
The three previously worked with members of the Alpha team while at Bristol firm Rowan Dartington before they left for WH Ireland’s Bristol office in 2008.
The latest move re-unites them with Rowan Dartington co-founders Andrew Morris and Mark Sevier.
Alpha Portfolio Management was launched in January last year and now has more than £85m of assets under management.
However, it has largely worked with financial intermediaries and their clients – an estimated 98% of Alpha’s business is secured this way – the company is looking to diversify this by attracting more direct clients.
The Mann family will work alongside the existing members of Alpha to expand their local presence, specifically working with direct private clients.
