Bristol-headquartered property consultancy Alder King has made two new appointments to its planning and energy teams as the firm continues with its structured expansion programme.
Simon Metcalf has joined the firm’s planning team as an associate while Alsadeq Safieddine is now a negotiator in its energy team.
A chartered town planner with more than 20 years’ planning experience, Simon has worked across public and private sectors, leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects in the residential, commercial, energy and infrastructure sectors. He previously worked at Tetra Tech in Bristol.
Alsadeq, who has joined from Sustainable Construction Services (SCS) in Thornbury, holds an MSc (Hons) degree in Environmental Management from the University of the West of England and an MSc in Renewable Energy Technologies from Reading University.
He has experience working with alternative fuels in the agriculture and brewing industries, as well as working proficiency in BREEAM sustainability assessment methods for master planning projects, infrastructure and buildings.
He is now working on land acquisition strategies with Alder King’s energy clients including Gridserve, JBM Solar, Conrad Energy and Lightsource BP.

Alder King employs around 130 people across its offices in Bristol, Swindon, Cardiff, Exeter, Gloucester, Taunton and Truro.
